Let us pray for those given the responsibility and heartache of facing evil
I asked God if He was testing me–and once again I put my hands together to pray. Yet it was difficult to find my quiet place to talk with God while the devil was screaming in my ear.

Remind me, Lord, of your promise
Indeed, if we consider the unblushing promises of reward and the staggering nature of the rewards promised in the Gospels, it would seem that Our Lord finds our desires not too strong, but too weak.
– C.S. Lewis
The Weight of Glory
May we enjoy God’s abundance this Summer season
If there lurks in most modern minds the notion that to desire our own good and earnestly hope for the enjoyment of it is a bad thing, I submit that this notion is no part of the Christian faith.
– C.S. Lewis
The Weight of Glory
Lord, feed my desire
The New Testament has lots to say about self-denial, but not about self-denial as an end in itself. We are told to deny ourselves and take up our crosses in order that we may follow Christ; and nearly every description of what we shall ultimately find if we do so contains an appeal to desire.
– C.S. Lewis
The Weight of Glory
As we work hard today, let us take pride in the fact that our doing so benefits others
If you asked 20 good men today what they thought the highest of virtues, 19 would reply, Unselfishness. But it you had asked almost any of the great Christians of old, he would have replied, Love. The negative idea of Unselfishness carries with it the suggestion not primarily of securing good things for others, but of going without ourselves, as if our abstinence and not their happiness was the important point.
– C.S. Lewis
The Weight of Glory
Let us pray on the God-given gifts we’ve received, and how we can return those gifts to Him, especially during difficult times
Your gift to God is simple: Accept His gifts. Utilize His gifts to become the success He designed you to be.
– Larry Julian
God is My Success
Today I pray on my partnership with God
and everything of mine is yours, and everything of yours is mine.
– John 17:10
The New American Bible
For those who dare to change their industry for the better, let us encourage and offer prayers
When the 1888 baseball season began, the Washington Senators had a new manager. His name was Ted Sullivan, and though his name is not too familiar in baseball today, Sullivan was a true innovator of the game. It was Sullivan who decided that baseball players needed some time at the beginning of the season to get themselves ready to play ball. So he convinced team owner Hewitt to let the players travel down to Florida to get ready for the season. That is why Sullivan is widely credited with the establishment of one of the great traditions of baseball. Spring training.

May I find evidence of a shared faith today in places I never expected
‘I Would Die 4 U’ was the fourth single in the U.S. from Prince and the Revolution’s 1984 album, Purple Rain. The up-tempo dance song is thought by some to be sung from the viewpoint of Jesus. In concerts, Prince changes the lyrics from ‘I’m your messiah’ to ‘He’s your messiah,’ pointing to the sky as he sings the line.
